A Michigan man is facing some rather hefty charges after he allegedly engaged in a vehicle and foot pursuit with officers from several Michigan police agencies. The Lansing State Journal says that on July 29th, Clinton County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man in connection with a stolen vehicle. Prior to making the arrest, a Clinton County deputy claimed he saw a van driving with no license plate and windows painted black near Grand River Avenue and Wright Road. The deputy then attempted to conduct a traffic stop although the driver of the van allegedly pulled away.

The deputy then began pursuing the vehicle into Eaton County and back into Clinton County before DeWitt Township police deflated the van’s tires, according to the news source. Officials say the driver then got out of the vehicle and fled on foot. He was eventually caught and booked into the Clinton County Jail “on suspicion of fleeing and eluding, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of stolen property and resisting officers along with possession of cocaine, possession of methamphetamine and a weapons offense.”

Officials say the vehicle the male was driving had been reported stolen out of Lansing a few days prior to the chase.
